The Big Island, Hawaii

Oh, sweet, beautiful Hawaii. Our first taste of Hawaii was together in 2016 for our honeymoon. It took a little piece of our hearts that very first time.

If you plan on traveling to Hawaii, make sure to do the Pono Pledge before you go.

I’m lacking some photos here. Pretty much only showing the green sand beach day below. I’ll upload more as soon.

Since this was our honeymoon, we did hold back from any activity or dining. We went all out and it was the most magical, fun, adventurous vacation.

We stayed on the Hilo side of the Island, which is very lush and green. Essentially that is because it gets a lot more rainfall than other parts of the island. We explored every inch of the island and we did stay a night or two on the Kona side, which is the sunny side. We kayaked in the ocean, cliff jumped, parasailed, ate some fantastic food at sunset, snorkeled, took a helicopter ride over the lava that was entering the ocean (very neat experience). We also took a submarine, drove up Mauna Kea volcano, zip-lined over some of the tallest waterfalls, hiked to a green sand beach and enjoyed the most beautiful rainbows we’ve ever seen.
